Blog # 22 - Should we follow the leader?

1) Identify which political leader you have been learning about

2) Pretend you are that leader writing a letter to a newspaper in the year 1929. From the perspective of that leader, explain why war is an acceptable thing to do or not acceptable. Be sure to use some of the vocabulary you've learned!

3) Respond to another leader's letter from the perspective of your own leader. For example, if you have been learning about Hitler then you can respond to Gandhi or Mussolini.

Political Leaders

1) Mao Zedong
2) Adolf Hitler
3) Benito Mussolini
4) Mohandas Gandhi
5) Emperor Hirohito
6) Jomo Kenyatta
7) Ataturk
8) Joseph Stalin

I believe war is not acceptable we need peace and a way to work together. War is an excuse for power. We need to learn to compremise instead of just killing innocent people and taking what they have. We have to work together to make the world a better place. We have to learn to love than hate, smile than frown, and have peace rather than war. War creates more problems especially when aliences form and theres 20 against 1 innocent person. We need peace, no more war.

    1. I believe a better army and that army going into war is important. For example, Napoleon led his people to conquer many places, this strategy had positive effects on France

War is the only solution. There is no other way to get what you want. You have to fight for what you need. How will you conquer land? How will you show everyone that you are in superior?

My friends, it is time for us "The Italians" to rise above all nations. Wars will become our financial aid and our social benefits. We must show the world that we are the best and that is through our Fascist government that I have organized. My people, it is time to strike all we need is the ok from you the citizens of Italy since the Black Shirts have approved it. There is something that my king Victor Emmanuel III have told me and that is financial problems in Italy. Please approve of Italy going to war if you want to economical changes.

It is time to forget your religion and remember your great communist nation. Forget the ideas from the outsiders. Violence is the key. Intimidation to get what we want and what we need. It doesn't matter what chaos we cause, as long as we get what we want its all worth it. And all that matters is for our nations and myself to get as powerful as we can. But first we must industrialize.

Now my fellow communists its our time to retreat to south China. We will not allow Chiang Kai-shek continue trying to covert communists with his absurd Anti communist purge. I'm going to march all my communist followers to south China to start our new base.

Everyone, we need to take down competitors. We need to fight for what we want and never stop until we get it. No matter how many casualties we have, we will continue to fight. We will win and we will conquer. We must industrialize and make our materials better. It will help us in war. So join me, come and stand up for you, your family, and the community. We will win.

We need to fight back with violence and never give in. We need to fight for what we want and we will conquer. You will listen to my ideas and you will follow out with them. We will industrialize to strengthen our materials and then we will recieve anything we want and take what we want as well.

I believe that war is never the answer. It never usually solves anything. It just might lead to new problems, enemies, and different allies. You shouldn't have problems. Wanting is to problem to all suffering. If you want something that you can't have you might end up doing something that's not worth it and, you might start a war.I you dont want anything then you won't suffer and you won't have to do anything drastic. War is not acceptable because people die, you lose money, trade, and it can ruin you in the end like it did to Russia, with the treaty of Versailles. Sometimes its better to be rash. We have to learn to stop hating people who are not worth hating. We can't keep on hating people it won't do use any good in life. If we could find love then you just might find hope.

War is the only solution to our problems, if we do not fight for what we want, we get nowhere, and our beliefs will not be practiced. It is the only way for a leader to gain respect by his people to show them that we must be trusted. we put fear into their hearts so civilians may recognize me as there one, and only leader.

    1. Simon, I disagree with you sadly on your comment because I personally do not think that war is the only solution to problems! I think it is a last resort. You must try everything you could to achieve your goal, and if that doesn't work, then war will be the solution.

It is time to ban Pan Arabism. It is an unfair to the rest of the Arab nations. I believe that since I have declared Turkey a republic, we have been doing excellent. We have defeated Greece, and have created many treaties that will help make us even stronger. I believe in a strong economic force.

My Main reason for war is to achieve justification in our nation. Some may consider me a nationalist but I believe that if you were born in a country you should fight for it and for the people in it. I believe that british rule is unfair and completely unnecessary I think we are capable enough to rule our own country. Not only is just unfair but it's wrong to have no idea what it's like to like to live in one country and then take control of it and lead it in whatever direction. My first step was helping to initiate the independence of all African nations which was the Pan Africanism movement. My next step is war because taking action will give me what I hope to have, freedom.

War was supported by Hirohito, he supported the war against China, and the invasion of Manchuria in 1973. As well he approved the attack on Pearl Harbor that led to Japan and the United states being drawn into the Second World War. We need to fight back, and fight for our nation.

I think war is acceptable with certain situations and circumstances. In my case, I want my country which is Africa, to be united into one country. My goal is to stop imperialism, and if war is the only way I can achieve that, then so be it. I think that Africa is fully capable of ruling its own country, I don't think Africa needs to be ruled under British rule. To achieve my goal to stop imperialism, I need to initiate the independence of all African nations which was the Pan Africanism movement. Then war is an option.

I am the "Father of the Turks, i have helped defeat the Greeks and have claimed Turkey as a republic. Also i think it is not fair to all the other Arab nations to not be part of Pan-Arabism so I banned Pan-Arabism. The only reason why i would go to war is if another nation tried seizing Turkey. As long as I'm here i will never let that happen. To avoid such a thing as war i have arranged treaties with other countries that will not only protect us but make us better as a country.

  17. I as Ataturk, leader of Turkey disagree with you about going to war. I believe war is not the only way to settle things or prove that your superior to other nations, things like treaties can help your country become stronger without even going to war, and fighting other nations just to prove your superior is just wrong and causes more violence.

  29. we will use war, for the way it is meant to be used, as a tool for success we should consider a gift. for it allows my people to bring a new level of nationalism this world has never seen before. let us redeem ourselves by getting rid of those who took everything from us. with our capabilities and the idea of war, just proves we are meant to prosper.

I believe war is never the answer. We don't need violence to prove our points and killing innocent lives will not solve any situation. I believe the best way to prove a point is to protest without violence. My famous movement of walking to the Indian Ocean proved to the British that we have control over our salt and they can't overpower us. You see, we used our peaceful actions instead of bullets going into strangers hearts.

War is never an answer war is just a big fight that just blows everything out of proportion. The best way to solve problems that start wars is to speak your mind but think before open your mouth. One of my famous movements against war is the walking to Indian Ocean proved to the British that we control over there production and they can't over us anymore.
