1) The Treaty of Versailles was an ending to the wars between Germany and The allied powers. The treaty wasn't in Germanys favor however. It forced Germany to disarm and to make territorial concessions.

DeleteThe Treaty of Versailles was a signed agreement which basically ended the first world war. In this treaty, it was stated that there should be universal peace between all nations, weather it be European or not. However, what this treaty had also said was that since Germany had lost the war, they had to give up there agricultural production, territory, and limited their declining army which limited any chance of revenge or rebuttal against a country. Also they said that Germany would have to state that it was there fault for the war, which is highly improbable. Fingers shouldn't be pointed at any particular country, even if it was mostly caused by them, it takes more than one country to partake in a war and its not fair that the Germans would be blamed. I would have not made the Germans agree it was there fault, or ask for agriculture or land. However, limiting an armies power does make sense, but it shouldn't just be for one country. If the treaty was meant for establishing peace, why not make equal war and military rules for all?

I believe that the Treaty of Versailles was unfair due to the fact that one of the terms in the treaty required powers such as germany to give-up many of the qualities that made them a powerful nation and give up their armed forcers. They also wanted germany to take the blame for the entirety of the war. This is preposterous due to the fact that WWI consisted of many nations. It is very wrong to blame one country for the damage that was done by multiple. However in this treaty it was smart to limit the power of the army to suppress any opportunity for another war outbreak.

The purpose of the treaty of Versailles was to end war between Germany and the allies, however, the conditions of the treaty were pretty harsh. They required Germany to give up territory and limit their forces, which meant less protection against foreign countries.

If I could change something/add something to the Treat of Versailles, I would add that everyone should be treated equally military wise, and punishment wise. Also it gave punishment and gave full responsibility to the Germans that started the war. Although it was bad because by focussing a lot on Germany and punishing them it caused anger in Germany and other nations which led to world war II. If i could add something to the treaty of versailles it would be that Germany couldn't start any mass wars with other countries.

ReplyDeleteI don't believe that the Treaty of Versailles was completely fair because it was somewhat harsh to their community being that the kids were starving. Other nations were so focused on resenting Germany that it led to another War. Although In some ways the Treaty of Versailles made things even out for other nations and it allowed them to go back to normal.

ReplyDeleteI think the Treaty of Versailles was a fair treaty in the sense that it stopped the war. But not so much on the Germany's side. Mainly because it basically blamed Germany for causing any and all destruction. The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement between Germany and the allies nations. This would later lead to WWII.

I think if I had the power or ability of have changed the Treaty of Versailles I would most likely split all the fees of destruction and work that goes towards fixing the physically and mentally destroyed nations between all of the allies nations and Germany. I would have also added that all the nations that in any way were involved would admit that there was fault in all.
I agree with Amir in that the treaty should have blamed all of the countries who were involved in the war.

The Treaty of Versailles wasn't fair because it states that Germany has to pay for the damage and when the war ended their no statements stating that they will help each other out both financially and socially. If I could change the Treaty of Versailles I will change the cruelty of the punishment and I will add a mandatory agreement that all the countries will help each other get back on there feet in both financially , socially and politically.
1. I think the treaty of versailles had a positive and a negative. It ended WWI and thats good because we don't want to see people die and tragic events. But it was also negative because many other countries were left unstable.

I feel that the treaty of Versailles didn't allow Germany or give any room to make a turnaround or change. Even though Germany did cause destruction to the point where they needed to be blamed however so much blame and things were taken from them that it caused resentment. Resentment and a nationalistic country does not mix which cause the rise of the Nazi’s. I feel that the treaty of Versailles should have a lower debt.

1. The Treaty of Versailles was very fair. The Germans were the ones who tried colonize many lands in Europe, and caused many deaths. Although the treaty did put Germany in great debt, it accurately placed blame where it should go.
