  1. Robespierre should be despised as a murder because he killed anyone who did not support the king. Everyone deserves to have freedom of speech and should be able to think whatever they want to think and not be attacked for their opinions.

    2. like mr.sosa he didn't kill the people because they didn't support the king but it's the opposite and try to to explain the freedom of speech more

  2. Robespierre should be despised as a murderer because of the many that he put to death for their contrasting opinions of the revolution. He became a very corrupt man after gain popularity and power over the national Assembly. This blinded him from seeing that even though he was making progress of making France a more Democratic country, he was killing thousands just to achieve this.

  3. Robespierre should be viewed as a murderer. He was a firm believer in the death penalty. He stopped at nothing to gain power. He reinstated censorship rather then freedom of speech. He even began to go against the church and ban things that had to do with holy things such as saint street names. However the reason he should be viewed as a murderer for using fear to gain power and the death penalty to rise in power.

  4. Robespierre should be viewed as a murderer because he killed the people that didn't support the Revolution not only this he brought back censorship in order to ban the church with its holy stuff such as streets name after saints

  5. Robespierre should definitely be viewed as a murderer. Although his great creation of democracy, he was responsible for the deaths of many, for he used a death penalty if you didn't believe in the revolution, as his way to gain influence and power. That's not equality its cruelty for not having the same beliefs.

  6. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer. Even though he helped create a democracy he killed many people that didn't support the revolution, but he not only killed people who didn't support the revolution he also censored many things that had to do with the church such as streets that were named after saints. he mostly used fear to get power and the killings to show his power over everyone.

    1. I agree with you antonio he should be seen as a murderer for sending so many innocent people to get their heads cut off.

  7. Robespierre should undoubtedly be seen as a murderer. It was a genocide of people that did not support the revolution and use of the death penalty was only a reassuring factor giving him power in order to influence many. His personal corruptness after his sudden uprising in power proves now only how power hungry he was, but that his sacrifices made for his utmost rise in power were meaningless.

  8. Robespierre is considered a murderer because although he encouraged democratic beliefs, he was still held responsible for the deaths of many people who did not support a revolution. He even began to oppose the church and prohibit holy aspects.

    1. I completely agree with you Nathella. I think that even though he helped create a democracy he should still be held responsible for the crimes he has committed.

  9. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer because he would kill people that did not like the revolution. He wanted power so bad he took lives to get it. Thats not a fair way to gain that. He did not work for what he want, he tried taking an easy way out. It was also a shame that he was doing a successful job making France a democratic country. Maybe if he kept working at that he would have gained power the right way.

  10. Robespierre should definitely be viewed as a murderer, since he killed many people who didn't agree with his beliefs. He was, however for democracy but that doesn't take away from his rejection of the church and the people.

  11. Robespierre should most definitely be considered as a murderer no matter what his reasoning is for the lives he took away. Robespierre wanted the revolution to be a strict democracy but I don't believe he realized what he was doing to achieve that. Robespierre killed anyone who didn't agree with his beliefs, or if someone had the slightest opinion that wasn't supporting the revolution. He also became very popular and he gained power over the national assembly. Although all Robespierre wanted to do was make France a more democratic country he was killing innocent people that should've had the right to state their opinion and beliefs about the civilization they live in.

  12. Robespierre should be viewed as a murder because of how many innocent lives he took, just because he wanted a democratic government. Taking peoples lives is never the right way to earn power. He wanted a democratic government but in the process I don't think he realized or cared about how he was getting it.He should be ashamed of what he has done.If anyone went against his opinion, and was for the revolution he would kill them. Its kind of ironic that he was for a democratic government, but he was taking away peoples freedom of speech.

  13. Robespierre should be viewed as a murdered because of all of his extremist hostile actions. He took the lives of many people who even slightly disagreed with his revolutionary policies. Even though he felt very strongly about his standpoint, it didn't really justify the cruel actions he took. Even though it led to a better society.

  14. Although he acknowledged Democratic beliefs, Robespierre should definitely be considered a murderer because of the responsibility of innocent peoples deaths. he even began to go against the church and prohibit holy acts.

  15. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer. This is because he killed a lot of people that didn't support the revolution, and he also censored things that had had anything to do with the church like any street that had the name of a saint. All of the killing he had done had surpassed the good doing of his democracy.

  16. Robespierre should be celebrated as helping create a democracy. Eventhough he had influenced these murders through writing, he main intentions were to change the ways of the government and give rights and equality to the third estate. Also Robespierre did not physically murder anyone and did not accept or disagree with the popularity or murdering anyone who was against revolution.

  17. i believe that it is true that murder is not the answer when it comes to making change however, a revolution did end up happening thanks to the writing of robesppierre.

  18. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer for what he did. He took away many peoples lives for the slightest reasons which is very cruel and unfair. If someone doesn't agree with your ideas, or in this case his revolutionary policies, they should not be victimized or murdered. That most definitely was not equality, because if it was, everyone shojld be allowed to have their own opinions. In this case, you were murdered if you didn't agree with Robespierre. However, he should also be acknowledged for the help of creating a democracy.

  19. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer (only because he influenced others to murder), but should be seen as a good person for working towards democracy. Even though his actions weren't the best, he tried hard to make things easy for all citizens, even though he seemed cruel.

  20. Robespierre should be seen as someone who brought upon democracy. He should not be seen as a murderer because like all revolutions death is something that is happening frequently. So that fact that people are being killed should not be much of a surprise. The positive that came out of it was the people get a say in their government.

  21. Is Robespierre a man who we should celebrate as helping to create democracy or despise him as a murderer? Why?
I think Robespierre is a man who we should celebrate as helping to create democracy because he never really physically hurt or murder anyone. The only reason why he actually agreed with these murders is because he wanted equal rights

  22. I think that Robespierre should be considered a murderer. Just because you say that you're killing people for the benefit of the people it might not always be. Robespierre's answers to all his questions always had an answer that involved killing more people. Even though he helped in the creation of democracy in France, but just killing a few more people will not be the answer.

  23. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer. He supported the death penalty, and because of that, a lot of people were killed. The only thing he did was kill innocent people. He killed these innocent people just because they didn't believe in Revolution like he did. This is unfair because not everyone is always going to agree with what you believe in. Although he did help create a democracy, he should not be rewarded for it due to his actions against the people.

  24. Robespierre should be branded as a murderer because he killed the people that didn't support the Revolution and that was not necessary because people could have a say in what they wanted and he took that away from them by killing them. He also brought back censorship in order to ban the church's with there holy acts towards the people.

  25. Robespierre is a murderer. He killed many people who didn't support the revolution and hid things that had to do with with church. This is very unfair to the people

  27. I think we should despise Robspierre because he is a murderer. He didn't turn to negotiating he turned to execution. He killed anyone who didn't support the Revolution and people are entitled to their own opinion. So I believe that execution didn't really make a better society he was just killing innocent people and created the Great terror.

  28. Robespierre is a murderer and should no doubt be seen as a murderer. A man who supported a lot of people being killed because of the death penalty clearly is a murderer. Besides from just killing people, they were innocent people, just because of a different opinion in the Revolution. Roberspierre may have contributed to creating a democracy, but in no way should he get liked or remember for that, he should be remembered by being the murderer he was, no one should be murdered because of there own opinion besides from that being uncalled for it was up surd.

  29. 1) Watch the video below and answer. Is Robespierre a man who we should celebrate as helping to create democracy or despise him as a murderer? Why?

Robespierre could be both. Although he murdered many innocent people, he is the reason why France became a democracy. Basically killing anyone who didn't support the Revolution was extremely wrong, but it did help in the sense that democracy could be created when more people supported the revolution.

  30. Robespierre should be despised because hes a murderer. He killed so many people because they weren't supporting the revolution. Anybody that wasn't for it was killed. Robespierre also kept secrets about the church. He wasn't really the best person out there

  31. Robespierre should be despised as a murder because Robspierre killed soo many inccoent people who did not even deserve to be killed and beheaded.

  32. Robespierre should undoubtedly be seen as a murderer.Robespierre was a psychosis individual .Kill many people without any meaning behind it .accusing people for not following and beheading them I believe THAT'S UNLAWFUL.

  33. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer because life for him was all about the guillotine, he killed so many innocent people. Although he help to build France as a democratic government it was still unfair to kill so many people because they weren't so crazy about the revolution like he was obsessed with it.

  34. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer because he was killing people for his own good and noone else. He killed people because they didn't like the revolution that doesn't really make sense. Robespierre has no good reason to back up what he did!

  35. Robespierre should be seen as a murderer because he used the revolution as a chance to kill innocent people just because they weren't supporting the revolution. He was getting paranoid and addicted to the revolution which caused him to kill many people. Yes he did help build a democratic government for France but he will always be despised for being a killer.

  36. Robespierre is looked upon as a murderer because yes, he encouraged democratic beliefs, but it was still his responsibility for the deaths of various people that didn't support and agree with the revolution. It got to the point where he started to disregard the church as well as religiousness.

  37. Robespierre, in my opinion, contradicted himself. He felt anyone who didn't support the French Revolution deserved to die. How are people that may be thinking of supporting the revolution want to? Due to his brutality and wicked force, people felt scared and intimidated into supporting it. It wasn't really causing a change it was causing more problems. He then tries to cower out and commit suicide. He fails, and the people of the revolution realize his unlawful ways of dealing with society and order execution. He did create democracy, but he did it in a way where he'd be seen more of an outcast than a hero.

  38. Robespierre should be labeled as a murderer due to the fact that he killed many people that spoke their opinions and or spoke against the revolution.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Robespierre without a doubt should be viewed as nothing but a murderer. He caused ruckus throughout france and got several of innocent people killed for believing in their opinion. Anyone should be entitled to their own opinion no matter what the situation is.

  40. Robespierre was both a revolutionary and a murderer because in the beginning he was a man of the people and fought for the people, sure he caused some murders and riots but it would not be a revolution without them. however he went to far, he did not want the murders to stop when they needed to he wanted more blood spilled when it was not necessary, he kind of also went mad with power and became the very thing he was rebelling agenst.

  41. Robespierre is viewed as a murder for all the right reasons. He cause chaos through out the country of France and cause many innocent people to lose their lives for believing in something different then what he thought was right.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Robespierre should be viewed as a murdered because of what he did, because of him being a murderer. The man killed many people, even the ones who were innocent because of even having a different opinion then him. Even though he was very clear about his own opinion and thought he was what was right, it still was very clear what he was doing was wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  43. He should most definitely should be seen as a grand murderer because he killed anyone who opposed the revolution and who ever didnt have a positive opinion on the revolution.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I believe that Robespierre was a murder because of every that was killed just because they didn't believe in the same thing as he did. He wanted power but he just didn't realized what he was doing in the process. All of the power came to his head and he got over whelmed with it. He was fighting for something that gave people rights but he didn't realized that he took away their rights. He wanted a democratic government. They were innocent people that didn't deserve to die. They never did anything wrong but state their opinions and for that reasons we were killed.

  47. Robespierre should be looked at as a murderer because he believed that those who did not believe in the things he believed in should be put to death. He was a very strong believer in execution/beheading. Because of his, we could say, "short temper," people were afraid to believe in what they wanted because anything that was against what he thought was seen as rebelling

  48. Robespierre should be looked at as a murderer because the people who did not believe in the things he believed, should be killed. Pierre strongly believed in execution/beheading. People were afraid to say what they wanted because anything that was against what he thought was seen as treason.

  49. Robespierre should be seen as a murder. A democracy was created by him but he killed people that dont support the revolution. He also censored many things that had to do with the churc. He mostly used his negative power to get more power and the killings to show his power to the people that either respect or didnt respect the support of his idea
