Blog Assignment # 5 - So you want a revolution?

Use the following textbook pages to help with your response, pgs 572 - 577(new)  478 - 484 (old textbook)

Imagine you belong to one of the following groups in 1789 France: nobles, high clergy, parish priests, the bourgeoisie, peasants or city workers. Write a letter to the king at the time (Louis XVI) explaining to him what are the chief problems at the time and offer to him some solutions to those problems.

Blog # 4 - Your Ideal Form of Government

1) Using the ideas and knowledge gained from your study of the enlightenment and absolutism, describe your ideal form of government. Be sure to credit any philisophe who's ideas you borrow.

2) Evaluate at least one other person's ideal form of government.

Blog Assignment # 3 - The ideal form of government

1) Choose three of the Enlightenment Philosphes that we examined in class and for each explain the strenghts and weaknesses of their form of government. You can use your textbooks or interenet to look up the information if you can't remember it(Mary Wollstonecraft, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, John Locke, Baron De Montesquieu, Thomas Hobbes )

2) Explain which of the various forms of government you believe to be the ideal form of government

3) Do you believe people (the general public) should be able to rule? why or why not?

4) Respond to one other persons post and either support or refute their opinion about their ideal form of government using information from your notes, textbook and or any other resource.
