Blog # 10 - My Way is Better!

1) Pretend you are either a nationalist, a conservative OR a liberal living in the Americas during the Latin American Revolutions.  Write a short letter to the editor of a local newspaper describing how you feel about these revolutions.

2) Choose another person and respond to their comment from a different point of view. For example, if somebody wrote from the point of view of a liberal, respond to their comment as if you are a conservative. If they pretend they are a conservative then you respond to them as if you are a liberal.

Blog # 8 - Napoleon: Hero or Villian?

Napoleon is a very controversial figure. Many historians admire his accomplishments and argue that all military generals and even some politicians could learn a thing or two by studying how he ruled France. Other historians point to his strict and sometimes cruel use of force in parts of Europe to ensure his laws were followed. Assume the role of a historian.

1) Do you think Napoleon was a hero or a villain? Why?

2) Respond to one other person's comment.

You may use the links below and the textbook or notes to help you with your answer.
